Design Flaw Series

Here are the synopses for the next two books in the Design Flaws series, which are currently in development. The first, Design Flaws, took 6 years to write, so meeting the next deadline might be a challenge!

Design Flaws: The Comedy Club Church (Coming September 2024)

Grayson Dyle, the owner of a fledgling product design firm, and his brother, Dean, a home automation guru, have developed an uneasy truce with their newly discovered birth father, Catholic Bishop Thomas Brennen. Bishop Brennen needs someone undercover to investigate a rogue priest who is holding unauthorized services in a local strip mall comedy club. Grayson and Dean balk at their father’s request for help until a parishioner is discovered murdered in the illicit church.

As they investigate, the brothers determine there have been a series of murders associated with the services being held at the comedy club, which were hushed up by the bishop’s fixer. They also discover the underground priest was associated with satanic services in other cities where similar deaths occurred. Was this priest simply unlucky or was he involved in a devil-worshiping cult? Grayson and Dean must use all of their talents to determine the truth and end the murders.

Design Flaws: Cryptomancer (Coming September 2025)

Grayson Dyle, the owner of a fledgling product design firm and budding amateur detective, is awoken in the middle of the night by a desperate call for help from his brother, Dean, a home automation guru. Dean’s main client, Mr. X, a reclusive technology and cryptocurrency businessman, has just had his swanky home in Minnesota’s most exclusive neighborhood on Lake Minnetonka invaded. A well-orchestrated team of home intruders bypassed the mansion’s security system, murdered X’s live-in maid, and made off with his plans to take over the cryptocurrency market and his collection of custom-built guitars that famous rockers signed. Since Dean’s automation team had just upgraded the home security system and installed the latest automation gadgets at X’s, Dean is the main suspect for the break-in.

X is ready to press charges, and the police are prepared to arrest Dean, but Dean convinces X to hold off for three days so he and Grayson can determine how this could have happened and identify the real killers. The intimidations, threats, and bodies pile up as they search for the killers. Grayson and Dean must find the ringleader of the home invasion team in time to prevent more murders and stop them from cornering the cryptocurrency market and keep them from escaping to a tropical paradise that has no extradition treaty with the US.
